How To Make A Kid-Friendly Vegan Milkshake
It’s summer. It’s hot. Quick, easy and cool drinks are life!
If you are looking for a simple recipe that satisfies your sweet tooth, while still aligning with your health goals, try this vegan, chocolate milkshake!
My kids and I are currently digging it. We created this lovely treat after experimenting in the kitchen. My son help me make it, and is very vocal about his likes and dislikes these days, when it comes to taste. So, how do you successfully make a milkshake with a 3-year-old? A few scoops of patience, a gallon of “YES,” and a simple desire to enjoy the ride, no matter how messy it may be!
Here’s what we added to our shake:
Non-dairy milk: Ripple milk is our favorite. It has 8 grams of protein.
A handful of ice.
1 banana: Packed with potassium, vitamins B and C.
A handful of cauliflower: Full of antioxidants, fiber and B-vitamins.
A few scoops of non-dairy ice cream: We used Alden’s Muddy Brownie, which is made with coconut and oats. Any non-dairy ice cream works.
1 teaspoon of sea moss: Stacked with minerals and vitamins, including calcium and magnesium. It also provides immune support.
A sprinkle of cinnamon (optional) : Has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties.
A dollop or two of agave (also optional): Contains phytonutrients, and is a low-glycemic sweetener option.
