A Simple Easter Snack For Kids
Wow, Easter came quick this year! This season always lifts my spirit. The resurgence of the sun and overall theme of rebirth, renewal and gratitude makes the days feel lighter.
In that spirit, I’m keeping Easter simple this year! It starts with a fun and quick snack idea, that’s perfect for the holiday weekend. It reminds me of a kid-friendly charcuterie board, with a Spring twist. Plus, for all of my fellow moms with cute little picky eaters, you can tailor this snack to match their favorite food of the moment.
Here’s what you need:
Egg carton/s
Empty plastic eggs
Fun snacks!
Directions:
Grab 1 egg carton for one child, or multiple cartons if you’d like to feed more children.
If you are feeding one or more children, cut the egg carton in half, so that each child has at least half a dozen slots to choose from.
Pop open your plastic eggs.
Place the plastic eggs inside of your egg cartons.
Select 6 or more of your child’s favorite snacks. Try to mix in healthy snacks. You can play with sweet and savory tastes, depending on what time you’re planning to serve it. I also used both wet and dry snacks; like fruit and cereal.
Add 1 snack in each slot. Some of the food that I chose were: carrots, blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, crackers, jellybeans, dairy-free chocolate chips, raisins, cereal, dried cranberries, and celery.
Enjoy!
I was never a Pinterest/play with food sorta mom. But, since the pandemic hit I’ve wanted to make things feel extra special. Perhaps it’s overcompensation for the fact that the world has been shut down for the past year. Maybe it’s because life is totally different now. Despite all of the toughness in this, I still want our kids to have beautifully soft memories of this time. Things are becoming a bit more normal again, and we’ll probably miss elements of this time. However you celebrate Easter this year, I hope that you do it with heart.
